PAINT PENS IN PURSES BOOK | BOSTONS FEMALE UNDERGROUND ART SCENE

This book is a visually stimulating collection of artwork and interviews with some of New England's top female artists. Paint Pens in Purses has been a notable force in Boston urban art community and has been throwing art shows and live painting events around the city since 2008 when I was asked to be in their first show.

Gus bikes in North Hampton, NH has a weekly all womens ride. A nice 20mile loop around the water and back to the shop. Bicycling Magazine featured it in their spread about the countries best shop rides.

Decibel did a feature on the band Periphery's new EP "Icarus Lives" and promoting their tour with Fear Factory this year.

BLACK SHEEP | AN UNCONVENTIONAL LOOK AT FAMILY VALUES

The book is a collection of photographs, stories, and reflections on family from the perspective of individuals involved in underground scenes, aiming to challenge the presumption that people involved in these cultures come from unstable homes or have poor family values. This 9 by 9 coffee table book is a compilation of quotes and stories from over 70 people from many sub-cultures and alternative scenes; in most cases, the contributors have also included family photos to give the reader a closer, more exclusive look into their lives. A few contributors include Melissa Auf der Maur, Penelope Spheeris, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, Freddy Madball, Kevin Lyman, Sage Francis and many more.

Hensel asked to use my portrait of Art Brewer to be apart of their ad campaign for their portable light packs. The images were used in all the national photography magazines as well as on banners in Sammys Camera.

My portrait of Augustine Kofie was printed in the Agenda 2007 issue of Color Magazine. Kofie was a featured artist and made a mural that was used for all the print and promotional material for that years show.
